Manacor is the second largest municipality of Mallorca. I'ts easy access from Palma either by car or train has made it grow over the years but never losing it's local traditions. There are many pretty beaches belonging to Manacor making the coastline particularly attractive. The world famous
cuevas del Drach ( caves of the dragon ), in Porto Cristo, with it's wonderful underground lake are so named due to a legend that assured that a dragon actually was custodian of the caves and guarded the entrance. Other caves in the municipality of Manacor are the Caves of Hams which can also be found in Porto Cristo. Both are well worth a visit.
